The Asian-American Foundation of Oregon (AAFO) is a Domestic Non-Profit Corporation that offers scholarships to students and grants for cultural and educational events and performance groups of other Asian-American non-profit organizations. The AAFO welcomes anyone who supports their mission and activities to become a member. Dues will be waived.

Our Mission
Our Background
To promote cultural understanding, mutual respect and friendships among all people by sponsoring Asian Desi Pacific Islander American activities, creating and advancing services that enhance the community's health and well-being facilitating the creation of new community groups, and awarding grants and scholarships that insure the community's sustainability. As well as contributing to the community by sharing Asian and Asian American cultures, providing scholarships and community grants, and by establishing a Multicultural Community Center in Lane County, Oregon. The Foundation supports cultural activities of other Asian American organizations throughout the community.

Examples of the types of projects the foundation wishes to fund include, but not limited to the following:
• Further development of Asian and Asian American performing arts, dances, and entertainment that is shared with the broader community
• Assistance with purchasing cultural attire for performance purposes
• Assistant with materials and supplies used to share Asian cultural arts​​
• and many more projects

The AAFO was incorporated in 1993 as a public benefit organization under the Oregon Non-profit Corporation Act and qualifies as an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, education and cultural purposes. The AAFO is supported entirely by volunteer staffing and is funded solely through fund raising activities such as annual auctions and donations towards scholarship awards.
